Just thought I'd start this topic.... One of my country's landmark is the Great Ocean Road... Of course theres many others, but I thought it would be great educating everyone about the different places you have in your country.. Not to mention, post your animals here too.... Be it kangaroo or a cute dog... I'm sure everyone loves animmaal stamp... Just make sure to post the name of the landmark and animal though... I'll start this topic off when I get back from work...

PS: This topic is suitable for all German sailors stuck in Lousiana..

Hi guys my landmark is Port Royal Nova Scotia. I lived there for 10 years before we moved to New Brunswick.

Port Royal is where the Acadians landed and settled before they were deported.

Since I'm Acadian (my maiden name was Gautreau) I thought it would be appropriate

Very interesting stamps, Dianne! Thanks for posting them! I knew nothing about the Acadians until I saw your stamps and started reading about their history. I would really like to drive up there and visit Nova Scotia sometime (maybe this summer).

Western Australia's state Fauna emblem is the Black Swan, so I thought I would post a few stamps with Black Swans on them.

The first one is a postage stamp from 1905, Stanley Gibbons # 112, this is my oldest Aussie stamp. The other stamps are not postage stamps and as I don't have a book on them, I know nothing about them.
If anyone has any info, it would be greatly appreciated.

Dianne, I was wondering if you have any stamps celebrating Louisburg and if so can you post them? I was there around 10 years ago and they had an outstanding historical reconstruction/re-enactment effort going on. It seemed pretty isolated to make a go of it financially. Hope they made it.

Charles.

Hi Charles

I'm not 100% certain. I'm still sorting Canadian Stamps. I'll check tonight and let you know.
