Hello
I'm new and I have two stamps that I would like to identify.
The first one s a stamp from the Austrian-Hungarian period.
The info I have collected is:
It might be from the year 1879.
It is from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The world government is on it, which was important for Bosnia and Herzegovina.(That's what I got told by a historian)
The condition is not that good considering that it might be over 130 years old.
My estimate of the number of these stamps:3 to 4 (my included), because there are only 3 or 4 pictures on the internet(my not included).
It is only mentioned on Wikpedia.
Here is the picture:

The second stamp:
I don't know anything about this stamp other than:
It is from the Austrian-Hungarian period too.
It is from Bosnia too.
It is a military stamp.
Second stamp:

Hope someone knows about them, and how much they are worth.
Thanks in advance.
-Elkom
Update: I added pictures using photobucket.

Elkom, first of all welcome to the forum! One of the places that might help you is www.stampworld.com
It is a free website where you can find nearly every stamp ever printed. If you can not find anything on them at all, please try to upload a scan or picture!

Both appear to be from Bosnia and Herzegovina, but I don't have a catalog handy for the numbers.

Elkom, the second stamp is B. and H. Scott Nr. 68 from 1912-14.

EDIT: The first stamp is a fiscal stamp of some type. See here: http://www.stampboards.net/viewtopi...2ddcb05734e3

I believe both stamps date from around 1914-15 or around that dates. The first would be a postal fiscal. A really good example being worth around 20- 25 UK pounds but in that poor condition worth very very much less.

Forgot to add... the postmark is ZVORNIK on the first stamp.

Thanks for the facts guys, but I already wrote that the Austrian-Hungarian kingdom started to rule over Bosnia in 1879, when, after the Congress of Vienna, it was decided that Bosnia will fall under the ruling of Austrian-Hungarian kingdom. 1879 is also the year the provincial government (Zemaljska vlada) was built.
I am from Bosnia so I knew that it said ZVORNIK on the postmark, but I also noticed this:

It might be the year of the postmark. It says 97, which I think is 1897, so the stamp is atleast 118 years old.
I now only need to confirm the number of how many stamps there are and the real value of the stamp, because I don't believe it is 20-25 pounds (Sorry if You think I'm a little attacking because of the value, but I really don't think it is that value).
And yes, I know it is in bad condition.

You are correct about the date... most people have better eyes than mine
I cannot see it being worth a lot. I see a pair of these with similar dates on ebay priced at US $1.99 starting bid with no bids. That plus the condition of yours does not indicate any degree of rarity, I would suggest but someone with a Michel catalog might see differently.

There are an awful lot of 120-year-old stamps around that are worth very little. For a stamp to be worth anything in bad condition, it must have a pretty significant value if in good condition.

Elkom, I'm afraid you overestimate the rarity of this first stamp. As scotzm writes, it and others like it--in far better condition--are available on ebay for just a few dollars.

EDIT: Correction made.

Might I suggest that the first stamp posted by Elkom is from the second issue of this type and that the first issue is the one with some degree of rarity? I'm not sure but I believe there was no 1 Novcic value in the first issue. Again...someone with a Michel might throw some light on this

Oh, well, I over estimated the value, but I have a lot of other stamps that might be rare or worth. Those being from all around the world. Thanks guys for helping me. I will post new posts about stamps that need verifying. Next time, I will not be so over estimating like for this one. I only over estimated since it was so old and there was nothing I could find about it on the internet.
Thanks again.

Might I suggest you title your next thread with something that will attract more traffic.
"Can anyone help me with identifying these two stamps?" might not be enough to engage with collectors with specific knowledge. You did mention in your first posting "1897" and "Bosnia/Herzegovina" so if that had been included in the title of your thread it might have attracted collectors of classics and also that particular country or era.
As it stands just now, you still do not have a positive identification for your first stamp, but perhaps enough has been mentioned to support the proposition that it is not rare or valuable.

Yea, You are right, I didn't write the title to be attracting.
Next time I will make my title better.
As for the stamp(s); I will keep them, just to have them in my collection.
Yesterday I have bought a few new stamps from Bosnia and Herzegovina (from 2014) to add to my collection.(I said I was from Bosnia/Herzegovina). I also have stamps from Yugoslovenia, Britain, USA, Canada, Italia, Russia, France, Germany, Croatia, Serbia, Iraq, kingdom of croats, serbs and slovenian, I think from turkey too, and maybe from other countries too, so I am happy to be a collector, and I will ask about my stamps. I might even have whole collections, and I don't know it. I only know that I have a collection of Yugoslovenian Red Cross stamps (I think) and a collection of Russian Sports stamps.
Thanks again for the help.
