The ebay item found via the link below is quite interesting. Here is the title:

"Portugal - Timor Two Complete Sets MNH (Read Description)"


Here is text from the description:
"1948/51 - "Tipos Indigenas" two complete sets in a total of 10 stamps Regummed."


How can stamps be both MNH and regummed??? Gotta love the gamesmanship.

That's the P.T. Barnum effect. Salesmanship. Make your product sound as attractive as possible, whether or not it is accurate. I find that a lot on ebay, especially from people who have little or no knowledge of the hobby.

People are often advertising "old" stamps, when the stamps are not as old as I am.

Hahahaa too much. Almost as bad as some asking $450 for a $200 set...I guess they must get someone to bite.

Also of interest ... At the site referenced below, 'other items for sale' by this dealer shows four lots for sale for four different colonies, all with different prices ... yet showing the same picture!

But if you look carefully you will see that the overprint is different for each colony.
