Hello, I have this stamp: What nation is it from? The commonwealth countries made so many QEII stamps and I have no idea which made this one. Thanks John Paul

United Kingdom ie Great Britain, England. Since it was the first nation to issue the modern postage stamp it has given the right not to add it's country name to the stamp. But all issues have a reference to the reigning monarch, currently QEII. |

This is a British regional issue.
WALES !! The Welsh Dragon below the Wilding head in a split leek. Nice designs and they recently celebrated 50 years of these issues.
This one was issued in 1958 or 1967 depending on Phosphor [tagging]. Minimum value.

Thanks everyone for the information. This clears up many stamps where I was not sure of the country. I will be sure to keep a lookout for the various symbols for the parts of Great Britain.
On another note, it seems strange to see QE II so young - so used to seeing her older.

Quote: On another note, it seems strange to see QE II so young - so used to seeing her older. Those stamps were issued in the 1950s and 1960s. For me, it's the other way around! I'm used to seeing her portrait on stamps from that era -- so it's strange seeing her so much older in the news! |

Every time I see this thread in the forum, I think it says, "Which nation is Queen Elizabeth from?" |

I'll have to remember that with future thread titles. Maybe somehow I can harness that confusion and get more traffic to my posts :)

John Paul: I live in a small town with a weekly newspaper. When I was a kid, there was a "character" in town that ran a classified in the paper that said, "SEX" -- underneath, the print said, "Now that I've got your attention, if you need your car painted call Burt Farmer." |
