Now that I have been collecting Denmark for a little while, I seem to have accumulated a good selection of the bi-colored issues. I would love to try my hand at plate reconstruction, but don't have a clue where to start. I don't read Danish and I haven't ran across any literature in English. I have found some websites, but again it's all in Danish. I can use the Google translation service to get an idea of what's being described but I can't seem to crack the codes being used. Also having trouble translating philatelic terms and abbreviations.
Does anyone know of any online sources (in English) to help me get started?
Took a look at Jay Smith's site and he can tell prints apart, but I didn't come across any plated stamps, only a few that he's had Lasse Nielsen do for him apparently.
and NO, facit will not cover your needs for bicolored, in fact it's horrible.
you need AFA specialized 2016, it has a listing of all the prints and a few guidelines. but for plating you need Lasse Nielsens books, they are in both danish and english.
theres also an online tool, but I wouldn't start there, it's based on some knowledge from the books. you only need book 1, and then the online tool will cover the 5 other books.
i can help you get started if you're still interested.
