These appear to be something like first day of issue cards or pages. The selection I have is for nearly all France commemoratives issued in 1982.

(1) But what are they called? And what would be the French term for them as well?

(2) Is there a catalog that lists and prices them? Possibly a specialized French catalog?

(Again, apologies for the photos rather than scans.)

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

I'm hesitant to name these souvenir sheets as they are different than what I am familiar with. The French would be 'le bloc-feuillet,' but, again, that may not be the best term for this collection. The sheets are lovely and seem to have the special postmark used for their first day of issue.

Thanks for your reply, KGB!

These really are different from traditional souvenir sheets, not to mention that they're printed on heavier card stock. Those really are the stamps affixed and then cancelled with the first day cancel, and they're very well done. And, of course, these cards provide some additional background information about the stamp, which is always nice.

If I didn't already have so many collecting areas, or if France were already among my major areas, I think I'd pursue building on this collection. As it is, I'll probably put it up for sale somewhere.

French material for collectors can be very pricey. Please make sure you get a fair price for these.

I have seen a fair few of these collections come up at auction and they sell for very modest amounts as they are neither mint or postally used.
