From a cold and frosty Victoria morning, may I show this stamp that is perf 13 x 13 large crown w/m that should be olive green. No printing on the back. I ask whether this is the standard colour or a shade and whether the perf on the left side is normal or does it degrade the value. 50%?
I should be grateful for an opinion

Gibbons lists this in grey-green as well as olive-green.

Michael367, very hard to tell from such a small picture, but for the correct color have you tried www.stampworld.com ?

Is there paper from the cover still attached? Also, what is the cancel?

More important, would you mind double-checking the perfs? I understand that the 1964 16 sk. is perforated 12 1/2 or 13 x 12 1/2.

The perf is definitely 13 x 13. I checked with Stampworld, which shows the grey olive as perf 12.5. Stamp world shows the two shades and to me this one looks grey olive, yet that is not consistent with perf 12. I want to add a scan of the cancel but cannot find how to do that
What I cxan read seems to be STOR

Michael, I hope you can find a way to provide better scans. It looks to me like the stamp has a collector's mark on the back.

That is a correct shade, the short perfs at left do detract from the value.

I thank you billsey for your help. The stamp is perf 13 x 13 and not a reprint as noted in Scott. When you say it is the correct shade, do you mean it is the Scott 15 olive green and NOT the 15a grey-olive? If that is so, the stamp would be a variety as Stampworld says the grey olive is perf 12.5?
Sorry to come back for clarification but do need the help

Yours is the Olive Green, the 12 1/2 is a bit more gray and a bit less green. Shade isn't a good determination of printing though, they varied within printings. Best to actually measure the perfs. The 4sk and 16sk were first issued in 1864, the coarser perfs not until 1870 and almost immediately superseded by the new designs.
