I hope this is a appropriate question for the forum. I am looking for a recommendation for a US Stamp dealer. I want to add some US singles from the 1940's and 50"s to my collection. I am looking for Mint NH VF. I know many are inexpensive stamps but I would like to find someone who gives personalized service and has a quality stock. Thanks for the help.

Dekka37, you can always go to Mystic, but keep in mind that they are very expensive. Another, in my opinion better way would be Bidstart or Delcampe. In a lesser sense E-Bay, it is harder to find what you want there!

You should be able to buy a mint US complete collection, 1940 to 1970 complete as a single lot, from a "real" auction house like Harmer-Schau, etc for less than face value.

Your best and worst place to shop for stamps is ebay. You are wise to ask for recommendations.
Here are three that I believe to be fair and honest.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/merchant/Karl-Anderson
http://www.ebay.com/sch/merchant/Shopesiw
http://www.ebay.com/sch/merchant/gsquarad7

also, here is a site that lists award winning dealers.

You might consider APS... they have both an on-line stamp store and also sales circuits.

On Line Stamp Store: http://stamps.org/StampStore

Request Sales Circuits: http://stamps.org/Buy-and-Sell-by-Mail <-- Recommended!!

Dekka37,

Carlberkey has given you good advice about TheSwedishTiger. Might I also add that all you have to do is to conduct an ebay search for what you want and then examine what's available in that particular vendor's store.

I applaud and am envious that you are purchasing US stamps from the 1940's and 1950's. They are beautiful and are among the most inexpensive stamps you can buy. They are my absolute favorites and my US MNH collection extends complete from 1920 to 2015. Of course, I don't have Scott #612!

I use stamps to go. They aren't expensive at all and if you buy from one seller shipping is only $1.00.

Try Bardo Stamps;

Pricing is a bit high on some more recent issues but the ones you are looking for shouldn't be. Great shopping cart system and fast service.
