Hahahhaa! I just stumbled upon this seller's surefire plan!

"By bidding, you agree not to file a PayPal chargeback case, or leave negative or neutral feedback, regardless of the reason (lost in the mail or theft)."

Ha! I'm sure ebay would love that one.

ebay is not without risk, for either buyers or sellers. Some people just don't understand that and think there's some way around it. If you can't stomach the risk involved, either don't use ebay at all or only ship with tracking or registered mail with insurance, etc.

That's seller audacity, not ebay audacity.

carl, here's one of his auctions: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Italy-Valon...AOSwgyxWVPz6

Joking aside, the fellow does promise to resolve any conflicts to the buyer's satisfaction.

A seller can claim anything they want in the listing, none of it applies. Both parties, the buyer and the seller, will have to abide to eBay/PayPal terms and conditions.

Thanks, KGB. Since I only sell US stamps, I'm not likely to have to compete with him. lol

Interestingly enough if you scroll down his listing, 6 inches above his stipulation is the ebay Money Back Guarantee. Wonder which one takes precedence? Having said that though, he must be keeping his customers happy if you look at his Feedback score. But as was mentioned, you can claim whatever you want. And as we all can attest to, ebay's rules trump everything. At least asking people to contact him first though helps....not everyone thinks of that.

While I do like the sellers that open the communication conduits I think the "binding agreement" is hysterical.

I see as much ignorance as audacity. The seller is clueless. I hope he spends a lot of time and energy trying to enforce his "agreement" the first time someone leaves negative feedback.

I made a recent purchase, but it was never received. I activated ebay's "we guarantee you'll get it or your money back policy" that had applied to this lot and I got a stream of abuse from the seller who, among other comments, hoped that I enjoyed profiting from the transaction. I never profited, just got my money back as ebay had promised. Such is the danger of buying from total strangers, I guess. I know that so long as I am in the market for philatelic material, I will continue to need ebay. GLENN
