Does anyone know if a website exists (hopefully, specifically for stamp collectors) where you can enter the name of a stamp color (example: greenish grey) and have the website generate an approximation of that color?

No. That would not work very well, since every computer - monitor is different.

Some scanners and some monitors can be calibrated. This process requires the use of color standard, typically a gray. The color standard is pricey and does not remain a standard for years. Then, with your scanner and monitor calibrated you can build your own color reference library. Unfortunately, even the experts do not agree on what name belongs with which color.

Pantone is a widely recognized color standard for most industries. http://www.pantone.com/pages/pantone/index.aspx You can order color charts from them but the issue still remains with color naming nomenclature. Stamp catalogs have not standardized on color names.
