Just a quick note on some of the educational enhancements recently implemented on Stamp Smarter. The articles that Bill Weiss authored are now archived on Stamp Smarter. They have been linked in to the bottom of some of the applicable 1847usa pages for convenience.

There is also a new USA control pefin census database! A huge thanks to Curt McCoy (aka kcaramat) for sharing the extensive work he has done compiling the census and helping getting this info in front of other hobbyists. Curt published a series of six control perfin articles in USSS 'The Specialist' from Feb 2014 through July 2014.

This new database is a great free tool to identify those elusive and occasional control perfins that might cross your desk. It has front and rear views of each perfin as shown here

You also get details on each control perfin like this which displays additional info such as known populations and any company associations.

Here is a direct link to the Control Perfin database
http://www.stampsmarter.com/control...landing.html

Note the initial view displays only 3 control perfins per page. If you want to display the entire list, click on the 'Define Page Size' button and select 'All'.

Any feedback, corrections, suggestions welcome.
Don

Very well done - thanks for promoting this effort. With this list you can tell the scarce schermacks from the common. Correction: it looks like the picture of #93 was used for #92 [duplicated, near the end].
