To hoxie454,

I sent you a message via SCF system
today @ 12.46PM. I had it CC to my email.
Can you please respond as to whether you
received it. Since I gave you my home email,
if the system was working, I thought I might
have heard from you already. I did have a few
questions.

I think we are neighbors.

Bob

I have read all of these SCF postings re: the Hunt Collection. It is really great that your family kept them intact these many years.

If I were a betting guy (ahem, which I am!) I would bet that the Bush family is some how related to either Hunts or Metcalfs. Perhaps cousins or whatever. Anyway, some of the covers reference mail c/o Postmaster Bush in Mill Brook, NY, and I think Glen Falls, NY, a Rev. in Medford,MA, and one in Newport, R.I.

BTW - as soon as I saw your email with your name I realized that I did in fact know your father from our days at R I Hospital Trust, when he headed up the Central Proof Dept. That was a big dept. My office was also on the 2nd floor of 15 Westminster, overlooking Exchange Place.

That looks like a nice damaged transfer variety on the Oct 11 cover!

@rlm, Im afraid I was unable to find any matching revenues. I knew it was a long shot though. I remembered seeing some initialed stamps that were similar, but not even close. You have a great collection there, best of luck with it. I'm sure you have learned a great deal in your investigation. That's the great part about philately, not just stamp collecting, its history.

To gabriella77us, Thank you for your interest!

To CC. I have started to gather some information.
Mostly short notes. We are also working on transcribing
some of the letters.
It does seem like a large puzzle!
