They replied again and said they would look closer. apparently they looked and decided it was a good cover, the original listing ended without any bids but they have relisted it again.

Also odd is the number of #388 2 Cent coils they appear to be selling over the last month or so.

No one should be surprised. This seller has been selling "suspicious" and severely overpriced lots for many years. I seriously doubt that he will stop now.

Here is a revenue equivalent from another seller. This is also a fake, the stamp is cancelled BEFORE the tax on photographs was passed.
I told the seller so, and was told "Thank you. I'll investigate and take it down if I can confirm your information". I then told him where to find the info. That was 2 days ago, so I am waiting to see what transpires.

It looks like he merely added "back dated" in the description, and did so in a way that doesn't clearly convey what that means in this context.

I don't think they added anything. It should read "revenue usage on back, dated 1864" but his grammar and spelling is lacking

Even if it these stamps appeared to be "tied", it would still be impossible for it to be genuine. First of all, both 2c are of design A140 which were not printed until 1912. The 5c is perf. 11 which makes it scott 504 (first print 1917). That thing isn't worth a dime unless one of the 2c is a rare type.
