I don't see why it would go for that much. The cracked die is interesting, but it's available for less. The wrappers printed on the unglazed side, however, I understand to be uncommon (at least in the marketplace.) |

The variety is seen on both wrapper and envelopes. I believe the price being asked is high. |

I hate the fact that someone has felt it necessary to write on the wrapper. With few exceptions, that ruins an item for me. |

I have some of these I would like to offer. But I doubt if they sell for that kind of money. Strange question maybe, but what would be reasonable?
Is the scott number:#w427MF ? Or should it be folded then?

I think the listing should just call out the W427. Is yours folded? If so, please note this in the listing. The cracked plate flaw can be large and striking (like the link you showed) or much smaller. Smaller, less striking examples would not bring in as money. As noted, this is not a high demand area of collecting so sales will be slow. Wrappers are hard to display; some don't even fit on normal sized album pages. I would start a non-striking, unfolded example around $20. If you have an unfolded, really striking example, I would start it around $50. Or you could throw it out there at a higher price and wait months to see if someone is willing to pay that much, and then lower the price later. (Note the listing link you provided has had this listed for months.) Don |

Thanks for your fast reply. Let me show you the pictures. I rather not wait for months though:).

The W427s are pretty striking and appear unfolded. I would list ONE and start it at $50. The response would dedicate how the listed the remaining ones. If you feel like gambling and would like to probe the market, list the first auction to start at 0.01 and see what kind of interest it generates.
I hope some of the postal stationary folks will weigh in with their opinions. Don |

Sorry. Yes they are unfolded. Should have taken the complete picture:).
Thanks again, I will wait just a little while if somebody else might add something more. If not I am going to try as you said list it from 0.01 and see what happens. The problem is, there are more then 5 here ;).
Thanks again!

Look closely at your shipping costs, mailing one of these flat to the US might be more than expected. Don |

Well I now listed it with an starting bid of $49,- , and with an $5 dollar shipment. With the large enveloppe and protection shipped from here, it would cost around 5.40 euro. So that more or less ok I think.
Lets see what happens.

Quote: I am going to try as you said list it from 0.01 and see what happens Quote: Well I now listed it with an starting bid of $49 You cant be afraid to sell... Items at ebay always find buyers who are interested or not. If the item was meant to get to $49 it will get there from a 1c start also. The worse thing is to keep having to relist and then buyers become non-interested in it. but... you are the seller, you make your own rules. |

Not an expert on these 'errors' but I don't think the die is cracked. If you look at the group of 1 cent wrappers, the crack appears at different places on all of them. This looks like a fairly common printing glitch - no extra value. |

Also Remco - yours look like W425's not 427. The brown wrappers can be hard to identify as the manila can run rather dark. |
