Hello all. Been going though thousands of stamps for 6 months now, steep learning curve some really different items have been turning up & this is one I'm curious about. Closest I can find is the 1967 5c US Commemorative, but it's not a match. Any input appreciated. Thanks.....Jad

The soviet satellites (forgive the pun) printed tons of space stamps. You might look there. |

looks like the Friendship 7 capsule from the Project Mercury, but I don't know if the 1962 US stamp had this sort of selvage, and the perfs look too fine. Perhaps a European issue? |

Definitely not a USSR vehicle. Looks like a Mercury capsule, but no space walks were ever conducted under the Mercury program. The first U.S. space walk was conducted as part of the Gemini program (Gemini 4, June 1965).

Let`s not forget that many nations--even the soviet satellites--pictured American space vehicles on their stamps. |

Hi all, thanks for all the interest.......anti-gravity machines in the out feild, 30 years from now who knows, anything can happen on this rock I did see the US Mercury stamp & thought the same, Paraquay also used a very similar capsule in one of there's, going to be an ongoing search I think. I have spent a bit of time looking at the many Russian space stamps, like the way they just zoom around up there with the doors open "But wait, there's more"............... All the best...........Jad |

Quote: ... anti-gravity machines in the out feild ... Iben Browning is reported to have suggested that anti-gravity must not exist because - despite its obvious survival value - no creature had evolved with this capability. |

This Souvenir sheet is from Panama (1965): Maybe it's from selvage sheet of those triangular space stamps |
