Been spoiling myself rotten and have gone on a spending spree filling some gaps in the collection which leaves me with the following dilemma; do I buy the wife an expensive Christmas present just in case she finds out, or will I actually make her suspicious by buying her something expensive for Christmas.
Anyway, wishing everybody a very merry Christmas and all the best for the new year.

I will not. I'm pretty solitary in this hobby. No one buying me a gift would know what to buy.

If I gave a U.S. #2 on cover, they would look inside for the Starbucks gift card.

When I tell family I want stamps for christmas, there is some rolling of the eyes and I get "anything else?!" Heck it is just fun mining all the Christmas envelopes the extended family gets. I have a whole pile of envelops to cut up. It can be a challenge to get every variety of Christmas stamp posstally used. I suspect I will get a green Harris bag or two. It's lots of fun to see mail with stamps on them,

I gave my family some suggestions for stamps. My son is pretty smart about internet commerce. I saw some envelopes addressed to him that looked awfully like what my ebay stamps look like. I'll find out tomorrow.

Now that would be cool ! I hope that's what you get. They would always mean more to you.

I have a few stamps that I treasure. Not because they have great value, but it means a lot knowing where they came from.

Bought the Federal duck stamp and the junior duck stamp. It is hard for my family to pick out stamps for me, but I will always take a Harris bag from Hobby lobby especially at 40% off. Usually wait for the Richmond Indiana spring stamp show.

I bought my wife's present to me, from ebay, gave her the unopened packages (one has a nice Machin mini-sheet used for postage), and she wrapped them up. Inside are a few goodies including a big wedge of Hungary stamps, to kick-start an album, with particular focus on the stamp designer Sándor Légrády.

I gave my niece a packet of 2500 or so stamps, assorted supplies and a beginner album. I hope I created a new philatelists. She already collects coins and mused about getting into stamps while looking at my collection last spring.

"getting stamps for Christmas.........." No, it's just me and friends wouldn't know what to buy. Closest known family is 800 miles from where I live. But 2016 will be big for me as I do the first ever major downsizing of my 1840-1975 world wide collection. Hope to have large pieces of it shipped off to auction by end of February.

Bought a bulk lot to give me something sort through - hours of pleasure, plus I treated myself to a set of 40 Huntertwasser postcards.
