This one is my favorite of the lot for two reasons. First, I'm a bit of a Nipponophile, having lived there for three years and secondly, we recently visited the "Butterfly Palace" in Branson, MO and I was inspired by the collection of "Butterflies on Stamps" that they had exhibited there.





As we see in so many philatelic items, there is much subtle beauty here.

Nice one Craig, but I'm a little dense...

Who actually issued this? My guess is Gibraltar issued it for the Japanese show? Is that correct?

Quite right Kirk. Gibraltar issued the Souvenir Sheet to honor/commemorate the World Stamp Expo held in Japan in 1991. This is a common practice for many countries and could probably form a good basis for a topical collection for persons with broad international interests.

Thanks for the clarification. I like the sheet. Almost any kind of Asian art appeals to me.
