Besides the Austro-Hungarian Empire starting in 1871, what other European nation issued stamps for their separate regions only, in other words there was no collective unified issue for that nation?

Imperial Germany, 1871-1918

Reichspost

The Deutsche Reichspost started officially on May 4, 1871 using initially stamps of the North German Confederation until it issued its first stamps on January 1, 1872.[6] Heinrich von Stephan, inventor of the postcard and founder of the Universal Postal Union, was the first Postmaster-General.[7] The most common stamps of the Reichspost were the Germania stamps. Germania stamps were issued from 1900 until 1922 making it the longest running series in German philately with the change in the inscription from Reichspost to Deutsche Post being the major modification during this period.
German colonies
Stamps were issued by the German authorities for all colonies:German South West Africa, German New Guinea, Kiatschou, Togo, Samoa, Marshall Islands, Mariana Islands, Caroline Islands, German East Africa and Kamerun. These stamps had a uniform appearance depicting the imperial yacht SMY Hohenzollern. Regular German stamps with overprint were used prior to the inroduction of the yacht issue.
German offices abroad
Imperial Germany maintained post offices in certain towns in Marocco, Turkey, and China. Issued stamps can be recognized by the cancellation stamp or the overprint may show local denomination and the name of the country
German WWI occupations
During world war I, German authorities issued stamps in occupied countries, namely Belgium, Poland, Romania, and areas of the western and eastern front.
I hope this information helps you.

No prize just for fun!

Some good examples, Drundenfus, but not what I was looking for.
Denmark situation those were territories of Denmark.
Andorra was a very good example of dual system, but Spain & France control the postal systems not Andorra!
Acutally I thought "habbyboo" was on the right track but never stated it.
In 1871 Prussian donminated North German Conferation defeated Austra, that led to Bavaria's incorporation into the new Germany, it had some autonomy & was allowed to maintain there own postal system.

Still there is a European nation in the 1800's now dead, that had two regions each used it's own stamps. There was never a true national issue at any time unlike those mentioned above. The stamps of these regions are listed under the national name, not under the regions name. What country is it?

Still are

But I have no idea, there are just so many countries in eastern Europe that formed, died, reformed, split up, redied,... some countries there aren't even recognized as a "real" country by all gouvernments, like the Republic of Kosovo.
So yes, I need a hint

Ok, that makes it a lot easier

But still, there are loads of Greek islands that used to be independant and switched "owners" back and forth.
So I can only guess, how 'bout the Ionian Islands?

They were under British control when the stamps were issued for Ionian Islands and the other Greek islands were under Italian occupation when those were issued. Crete was still
independent of Greece during it's issues.

Your getting hotter (US slang for closer)!! Drudenfus!

The country I'm looking for, that never issued an national stamp but did issued stamps for the '2' regions that form this country. The stamps of this country were issued between 1840-90 and is now what we refer to as a dead country it no longer exists.
