Any suggestions to overcome a problem with the pages I have in my two post Schaubek albums? Roughly the last third of the pages in these albums do not lie flat, despite the pages being slotted to enable this. I did not have this issue when using Lighthouse albums, suspect the paper stock in these is a bit lighter. Would it help to add some blank pages in the back of the binder?

I'm not sure I understand; all my Schaubek albums are loose-leaf binders with rings. So, if they seem too full, I can "split" the volumes and move some of the pages to a new binder.
Are you saying your Schaubeks have non-removable pages? |

Kirk - Stamps is using the standard Schaubek peg binder, so it's fully accessible. Stamps - are you using the cardboard dividers that break up the volume to help the pages stay flat? Probably need two or three.

I am using the cardboard dividers, but have them spaced evenly through the pages. Would it be better to group them all together at the back? One big problem is that I am using the stock pages with pockets for covers. Unlike the other pages these are not slotted. Why I don't know.
It's beginning to look as if I ought to have bought ring binders for these pages. I am not looking forward to buying more binders and moving my pages into them but this really bugs me as it is so I may have to. Anybody interested in some nice imprinted post binders? :) |

Presumably the bulk of the material is on standard pages? Move the stock pages elsewhere, perhaps - or put the covers on blank standard Scaubek pages with corner mounts. |

I have thought about cutting a few slits in the left margins of the stock pages and seeing if that overcomes the problem.
Lighthouse uses a similar system and those pages are slotted, just like the standard pages. I am sure this will sort itself out in time. I do like the Schaubek system and its affordability. |

Update- have just sent Amos an order for three ring binders. After working for a month or so with remounting my collection in the post binders I have decided I need a system that allows the pages to lie flat. I bought several post binders so will perhaps be able to recoup some of what I spent by reselling on ebay. Too bad- the post binders are very attractive but just aren't going to work for me. |

No way, I don't want 3 rings binders and not even the 5 rings of Palo ( I know I have one) It's not friendly at all to turn the pages. By the way the Lighthouse don't lie flat at all even after many years, it's not only the pages the problem, but the binders themself..... still Lighthouse make the best albums in my view. |

No peg binder - and I've got Schaubek, Davo, Devon and others - will ever lie completely flat, although I can't say that placing an ashtray on the offending part of the album is much of a problem for me. But the pages do turn easily, and the capacity far exceeds that of a ring binder. But I can see that peg binders and stock pages wouldn't be the best mix. |
