I guess I am a little impatient with Scott in the assigning of catalog Numbers to foreign issues, especially issues which were joint issued with USPS. This past year (2015) the USPS along with Japan & Sweden, issued stamps together. I look forward to the Monthly Linn's for the assignment of the catalog numbers. Why does it take so long for the number assignments for the foreign issues?? Or did I miss them somehow??

Scott may have a number already but need to confirm the sequence of any missing issues before finalizing it . They check with one of the societies for the full run of stamps before publishing any numbers .

Linn's sometimes waits months before publishing the Scott numbers for new issues. For example, in 2013, Great Britain was updated only 4 times: Feb., Mar., Apr., then nothing until Oct. The next update occurred in March 2014. The U.S. and Canada were updated nearly every month during this period. Germany was updated seven times. I don't know what factors decide how often the new Scott numbers are published, so all I can suggest is patience.

I agree with you. Linn's does take its time in verification of foreign issues so that the sequencing is not subjected to 'edit correction' if an issue was missed. However, given the world resources, ties to major postal administrations, ties to brokers which deal in foreign issues, and electronic data accessibility, you would think that the time lag would be shortened. Oh well, I'll continue to wait with a little more patience.
