Does anyone have any help to offer me in dealing with Schaubek re a problem I experienced with an order recently? It was placed direct with them via their Germany website, I experienced great service but there was an issue with pages missing from an album I bought and now I cannot seem to get anyone there to address this. I have sent three emails to their general email address and just sent another to a specific person who I'd had one prior exchange with. No replies being received and it has been three weeks! I strongly suspect they have staff not very versed in dealing with English speakers. Does anyone who's dealt with them have a contact they can suggest? There is NOTHING on their site to utilize to get a customer service issue addressed.

Try calling Amos as they sell Schaubek as well. They may be able to help or refer you to someone who might

Go ahead & laugh, but when my eMails go unanswered, I show them that I mean business, and send a fax.

Use two online translators.

Use one to take your very simple declarative sentence from English to German.

Use the 2nd online translator to re-translate your German text back into English.

Keep fiddling the original English text - no compound sentences, no sarcasm, no complex constructions - until the sentence successfully passes from English to German to English.

This is a sort of Turing Test: if two different translators can pass the sentence back & forth, it is reliably intelligible.

Someday, hopefully, someone will name this test after me

Cheers,

/s/ ikeyPikey

Thanks to both replies.

Calling Amos is next on my list of to dos. This is not their issue but I have bought stuff from them and maybe they can give me a contact of someone who actually will reply. I also am thinking about faxing or sending a letter in German/English.

Their home office is in Leipzig, which used to be in the DDR. I have noted that dealing with firms and even ebay sellers in that part of Germany is often like this. Sort of a clueless bureaucratic attitude. I have spent perhaps $1000 with these people in the past year and am getting pretty burned at being ignored.

Stamps 1962,
I suspect you've already tried the e-mail contact form on their website -- but in case not, here is the URL:

https://www.schaubek.de/kontakt.php?lang=eng

I've ordered directly from them in the past, with no problem; and they did respond to a question (not a problem) that I had, regarding the pages I received.

For some of the Eastern Europe countries, Schaubek and Palo are pretty much it (at least if one wants hingeless albums).

Newf222:

THANK YOU!

I knew that page was on their site but failed to note there was a drop down I could use to report a service issue. I thought it was just to request a catalog. I sent them a brief description of the problem right after your post and twelve hours later got a reply- they are mailing the missing pages.

Not sure where my prior messages were going but at least someone is taking care of it. Sometimes it helps to have another pair of eyes look at something.
