You'd have to wait a LONG time on that.

I'm too lazy to check. I'll let the machine at the grocery store tell me if I won a dollar or two.

I won zip, nada, zilch. I bought 10 numbers ($20), which is more than I had spent on lotto tickets over the last 3 years combined. Cuz, you know, I'm not interested when the jackpot is a mere $50 or $100 million. I don't cross the street for less than a billion...

I got so close! I was only 50 miles away from where one of the winning tickets was sold. Maybe next time I'll be within 10 miles.

I frequently buy a ticket, but I never check to see if I've won.

Buying a ticket allows me to walk home feeling like I might be worth a fortune, and that feeling only costs me a buck/two.

Checking the ticket makes me feel like a dope, 'cause I am wasting my time.

If I buy 'em & toss 'em, at least I know I am coming out ahead.

Cheers,

/s/ ikeyPikey

hmm, I'm thinkin' you might be able to go ahead and check the box 'feel like a dope' for other reasons. That would free you up to go ahead and check those tickets...just sayin'

@ ikeyPikey

Actually my behavior towards lotto tickets is similar
to yours.

As long as I don't check my 6/49 Lotto numbers I feel
like a potential winners which makes me feel
good inside.

I've been so derelict in checking that it came to a
point a few years back where I hadn't checked for months
and when I did check and actually won like $20 it was
too late to reclaim my prize since it was over a year
and the prizes must be claimed within 12 months of the draw date.

Now I check the numbers every few weeks but never
immediately after the draw,

For me, Stamp collecting is one of the few endeavors that would suffer from hitting the lottery. I think the "hunt" is an important part of the process for me. If I could just start buying everything I see it would take something away...

That being said...I would like to test the theory...

Oh well, what a sorry bunch of poor philatelists we remain.

So much for the Kutopian Embassy in Honolulu.
