Joining Phsc

Hi everyone,

I'm interested in joining the Postal History Society of Canada but I've noticed that the membership application requires the name of a 'philatelic reference'. Is the PHSC this exclusive? Can't say I really have a reference. Would a dealer from whom I've purchased from before constitute a valid reference?

I've used dealers, auctioneers, even suppliers as references.

I would just send in your application and explain your situation. If the PHSC is like most societies it's not going to turn down your membership. This reference business is a hold over from many many years ago. Outdated now!

And I know that I will get a response from some one saying it's still much needed to keep out potential wrong doers. In this age of declining interest in philately and postal history, we need to make it as easy as possible to get new members.
