Hello to everyone.Recently I have purchased a medium " mixed year lot" of mint, unused, and used of Chinese stamps.I received these for a limited price from a stamp book and not been checked since seller was not a stamp collector. A few from Imperial Post and later years.I am in the process of identifying many of them, however, I do not view all from Scotts Cat.including this specific one.
Does anyone have information pertaining to this mint stamp with selvage still attached? Would like to know what is the Scott number including if maybe in demand within present market.Does anyone know if perforations are genuine with this stamp?
Any information would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Thank you both for your responses..Interesting that I viewed the same stamp sold on ebay for a very limited price. However, on you tube, under Pat Dyer Collection of rare stamps of China, the exact stamp without selvage was part of the portfolio of presentations of stamps. So, I wonder if valued differently in Asian countries than other areas.

Larger block sold for under $5. To determine the market value of stamps don't look at what people ask, look at what the stamps(s) actually sell for. You can use ebay search and filter it for only 'sold' items.

I am going to check with a few Asian auction Houses catalogs to see if ever sold in past. Read also another individual ask a question about Chinese auctions and expressed Mao stamps very popular with high price values. I have viewed on line a few catalogs from Hong Kong in past selling very high values for certain stamps that would be different price range than average. I guess reason why see many collecting Chinese stamps at stamp shows.

If I see the stamp has been in auction,I will report back about findings.I am not going by ebay because seeing many stamps sold under price value even at 1/3 off of Scotts.

even if in thousands with Hong Kong dollar amount..it is 1 dollar us currency is .13 comparison..so would need to divide to see what value would be in US dollar.Hong Kong dollar currency price not same as US dollar.

Just viewed another stamp being sold in auction..an Airpost with 73 dollar surcharge on 25 orange est. value Hong Kong..being sold for a few thousand Hong Kong dollars which I have seen many times in different stock books..so, interesting that has a demand for sale in an Asian auction house.

So, demand of certain stamps appear to be different in the foreign countries.

Do I understand that you are saying you have seen stamps worth 'a few thousand Hong Kong dollars' in dealer stock books for much less? The stamp you show appears to be a C50 valued at 25 cents in Scott catalog. Obviously something is not right here.

Honestly, I just reviewed the auction catalog on line and saw it being auctioned for a few thousand Hong Kong Dollars for just one stamp..but you must remember, Hong Kong value is not same as US dollar..not same rate currency.
