Where would one find a dealer that would have stock of panama stamps ? I'm trying to acquire the 1939 set for the 25th anniversary of the Panama canal. As common as they are I can only find some proofs on ebay and I don;t want them. Delcampe and even Mystic came up empty. |

Have you contacted ASDA regarding their member dealers? Also, there is a Federation of stamp collecting organizations that include members from several Central and South American nations (but none from Panama) who might be helpful: http://www.f-i-p.ch/ I have also recently joined Delcampe.net which has fewer American collectors who might have what you seek. I bought a nice collection of early to 1980s Panama from the Kelleher auction house early last year. Includes Chile, Columbia, Paraguay, Peru. You might also check the every-other-month flyer of collections sales from Dr. Bob Friedman (Friedman Stamps). This may be more than what you're looking for, but sometimes, I've found, one has to buy more than just a set one is looking for. |

What area of the country do you live? I was just looking at a Panama collection yesterday, I could send the owner an email to see if he still has the collection, he was thinking of putting it up. |
