There surely will be a series of commemorative stamps to be issued in 2017, 2018, and 2019 in memory of World War I.The annual Lunar New Year, Black Heritage, Music Icon, Legends of Hollywood series as well as the holiday issues will continue. More rate increases? Any other guesses?

My thought. Sort of ridiculous to start worrying about this now isn't it?

USPS previews some of the 2017 stamps to be issued. Surprised nothing about 100th anniversary of beginning of WWI. the 150 anniversary of purchase of Alaska nor the 200 anniversary of Mississippi joining the Union announced?. The flowers from the garden booklet should do well. https://about.usps.com/news/nationa...pr16_072.htm |

I'm sure the really good stuff will be announced at some time. I was hoping for something better for JFK, frankly. In light of the recent war anniversary issues for 1812 and the Civil War, WWI should be well represented in the next few years. |

Someone else opened another thread about this, and a link to the APS website shows "a few" of the 2017 issues, about 36 of them. So far with maybe one or two minor exceptions they do not look very promising.

Since opinions are sought, let me express one.
The design for the new 2017 US Flag stamp seems too similar to the 2002 Flag stamp (#3620 - 37c). For a definitive issue that will see major usage, I long for more creativity. |

We don't need a new Flag or Flags every year. Don't issue a new one until the rate changes or an artist comes up with something inspired. Neither do we need a USPS stamp every year for every culture's or religion's year-end holiday. Repetition of stars, candles, and other symbols gets dull after decades. If someone really wants an interesting stamp depicting their holiday they can now make all they want via stamps.com or similar. |

Nells, I do not know about your favorites, but the Kennedy stamp looks better than most of the rest of the wallpaper!

The Kennedy centennial is very nice, and I love the Delicioso stamps (and would love to see that become part of a series on culinary traditions from different parts of the USA, such a wide variety that could be highlighted).
In terms of design though I give the award to the sharks issue, just beautiful. |

Peter: my comment isn't about the design, it is about the fact that JFK has been on so many stamps already. Seems he is simply a go-to topic to sell stamps. |

Opinion time: This series has run its course, BUT lately they have had some nice designs and have been well printed! Oooooh, not needed, but I LIKE! I like eh, so-so Always liked the butterflies Delicioso - can't decide... thinking about that one... Celebrating African American History and Culture, WPA Posters, Uncle Sam's Hat, Father Theodore Hesburgh I have definite opinions about of which I will keep to myself. I agree with some of you that we don't need a NEW flag stamp every year. Design a GOOD one, then just reissue it for a few years. Would have money, at least on design and set-up. |

I enjoy adding the USPS and Chinese Post Lunar New Year stamp issues to my collection each year along with beautiful and different "red envelopes" designed and printed for the year. |
