I have found some "wissels" is what it sais in Dutch, in english they seem to be called revenue stamps or fiscal stamps. What are they and how can I find them in a catalogue?
I'm on stampworld.com and can't find them, my Dutch catalogue doesn't display them either. Some of the dates are visible 1872 and 1875.
Yes most of them I know. I'd still like to know how to look them up! Regular stamps are easy most of the time but all the special items I have no idea how to look for them.
These are all revenue stamps but the condition makes them all of no value ,they are rounded corners, rust stains and over glued . I would just trash the group maybe trying to soak and clean up one or two.
Paul, they are not in a regular catalog. I have no idea what catalog lists revenue stamps in the Netherlands. You need to take up contact with a local stamp club. Or check with a local librarian! Maybe Google thee will help?
Paul, go to http://nvff.nl/publicaties.html to find several books and catalogs where you can find info on these. One of the best is the Barefoot catalog.
The 2nd. stamp on the 2nd. page is a Postage stamp not a fiscal.
It is North German Confederation 1869 10gr. Gray. It was issued to be used on Parcels only and is usually found cancelled by writing the name of town of usage on it. It is in poor condition and not worth very much.
Most of the other items have very little value even in perfect condition but there are some better including the two Denmark, 8sk. & 48sk. on the same page,
