Hi guys...Take a look at the back of this Scott #90...Mesh is not vertical or horizontal, but diagonal...Is this common in this stamp..? Robert

No. It looks like wove paper but you can only see half of the weave. The diagonal lines in the opposite direction are not as visible.
Look across the surface of the stamp against a bright light or window. Turn the stamp and see if you can see diagonal lines. |

Hi Robert. I do not know what Scott 90 is, but some of my coil stamps ( US Transportation series ) have a very similar pattern on the back. In this case the striations caused by the glue! Is this stamp mint or used?
