Hi

Before his death my grandfather gave me a collection of stamps, which he had found in the attic of his old house. I have no particular interest or knowledge of stamps, but would like to know if they are worth anything.

If its not to much trouble, could some of you experts take a quick look to see, if it would be worth the trouble to put them on the marked.

Here is the album: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/baxg9opx...lp8PDTa?dl=0

In advance thank you from Denmark

None of them are rarities; millions of them exist, so you won't be able to sell them for lots of money. However, the intrinsic value is the gift from your grandfather. He must have thought them interesting and worth saving.

Perhaps you should continue his collection. You can learn all you need to know here at SCF. If you're not interested, find a young relative and pass them on as a legacy from grandpa.

Thanks KirkS for the your expert view on this. As stated it was just a book he found in the last house he owned - so there a no real sentimental value. The architect equipment I got from him is another story.

I will pass the book on when I come across a person who have interest in this stuff.

Good day to you.

You have the start of a very nice world wide collection with a good number of desirable stamps. I can't say any are worth all that much money, but I wouldn't discard the stamps or give them away to someone who won't really appreciate them.

I could not make out the stamp very well in the image you provided, but there is an Irish 1 penny stamp--it's red--that is worth some good money if it is a coil stamp. It's value would be no less than twenty dollars, I imagine. A coil stamp will generally have perforations (teeth) on two opposite sides of the stamp with the other edges straight.

All the Irish stamps are perforated and worth pennies each. You have a nice starter collection which would make a new stamp collector very happy to receive.

Thanks everyone for your input.

If any of you would pay shipping from Denmark, I would not mind to send it to one of you, if you like.

Kind regards,
Emil
