Hello everyone,

I inherited a small stamp collection. Can anyone recommend a reliable UK stamp auction where I could sell them?

Many thanks

CoachWalker, good question, but a little vague. Auctioneers tend to specialize so you should know a little bit of what you have. A 'small collection' could be anything from a page of very cheap stamps to 3 or 4 very expensive ones. I think you get my drift; at least let us know ( or better yet see ) what you have?
Oh, and a very welcome to this forum!

Peter

Depends on the quantity and quality and, to a degree, where you are. These are three that I buy from

http://www.somersetstampauctions.com

http://www.warwickandwarwick.com

http://www.lockdales.com

Most will auction for you or buy direct. Some do roadshows.

this is it. About 200 sheets and assorted sorted envelopes with various numbers of stamps.

Can you recommend a trustworthy auctioneer I can consign them to?

Distance no object

Not impossible to evaluate them from these pictures, but the likelihood is that, if it's simply an accumulation of old material, there may well not be enough quantity or value to justify an auction sale. Remember that you'll be paying around 15-20% commission. You could try us with better, clearer pictures.
