Dear members, I have tried to Chile 2006 Specialized Catalogue from Sociedad Filatelica de Chile. I have no reply after couple emails and weeks. Maybe its not a long time, maybe an English is a problem. Do you have any advice? Thank you. |

Personally, I chase up owners of (Specific country) blogs, and ask them to assist. Try locating a Chile stamp blogger, and ask advice there. Good Luck |

Thank you all for replies. I shall try Spanish text at first, more assistance later and at last will rethink why I need Sofich catalogue when I use Michel, Scott, Yvert, .... :). |

IMO, for Russia (incl. USSR), the best specialized catalog is Solovyev. But for Zemstvos the best catalog is Zagorsky.
Iran: Persifila
Please, correct your spelling of Yvert for France.
Lately, the best catalog for France is Maury (it uses Yvert numbers but adds many new varieties and loads of information on postmarks, postal history, etc.).
Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Iceland, Norway, incl. Danish West Indies, Faroe Islands and Aland Islands: Facit
Denmark has also its own specialized catalog, AFA, though, in my opinion, Facit would suffice.

In my quest to obtain Chile2006 catalogue from Sociedad Filatelica de Chile I am loosing a battle :)). I am not able to receive any answer for my questions in a solid English or the fine Spanish (not quite Servantes's one)... If any of members know if they are off the stock or new one is in print would be great to know it. It is a reall adventure to collect stamps from a opposite side of the Earth ;). |

Does anyone know if the Stanley Gibbons Great Britain Concise catalogue is worth getting if I already have a Scott that covers GB? Or should I save up for some of the SG GB catalogs that specialize and cover certain eras? |

It goes well beyond Scott (and Scott Classic Specialized), but being 'concise' it doesn't go to lengths of more specialized volumes. -k- |

Personally, I'd only go for the specialised volumes if you're going to spend a lot of time on GB stamps. I have them, bought as part of a job lot of philatelic literature, but the concise is usually more than enough for me. |

Quote: Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Iceland, Norway, incl. Danish West Indies, Faroe Islands and Aland Islands: Facit I kindly disagree. I guess Facit is a good solution if one want to cover all Nordic countries in one catalog. However - for the really country specific stuff... Denmark and DWI - AFA Special is the ultimate reference Norway - 'Norgeskatalogen' goes way beyond Facit. Finland - SCB would know the best! |
