Got my tax refund and decided to use part of it to treat myself to some more specialized catalogs for my philatelic library via order thru collectura.com Leftmost Row - OBP Belgium 2016, 61e (top) and Belgian Colonies/Successor States (bottom) Top Row Across - 1) NVPH Netherlands and Former Colonies 2016 Speciale Catalogus, 75e (Hardcover!), 2) Philatelica Hungarica 2016-2017 Hungary Specialized (Hardcover!), 3) Tracinda South Africa Stamp Colour Catalogue 2013, 32e (was on sale for ~US$42.00), 4) Zonnenbloem Indonesia 2016, 54e Bottom Row Across - 1) Michel Germany Specialized 2014, 44e (was on sale for ~US$50.00) 2) Hibernian Ireland 2014, 2e (ordered direct from publisher, not from collectura) 3) Sassone Italy Specialized 2016 v. 1, 75e (Hardcover!) Overall a nice little investment in my philatelic library that will give me years of use as I build up my collections in these areas. ETA : here a pic of my full catalog library, so far :) |

jorgesurcl, I have not received any reply from the Chilean Philatelic Society regarding my inquiry to purchase the 2006 Catalog. Do you know of any sources that sell the catalog besides the Philatelic Society? |

Area66 I actually received a reply from the society today (gracias jorge if you mentioned something to them :) and I ordered direct from them paying via paypal, shipped direct from Santiago, cost me US$92.50 altogether. Not a cheap reference guide to be sure, but still cheaper than the ones listed on ebay or delcampe. |

Shipping is expensive because the catalog weighs 5,51 pounds (2,5 kilos) |

Quote: Not a cheap reference guide to be sure You always have for your money, since I mainly concentrate in the classic area I don't need 2016 catalogue. I don't sell stamps so the price is irrelevant, beside know if it's an expensive stamps or a cheap one. I need reference not price. Beside, I think I can categorize my self as a book collector also, I have so many, should see my Aquarium books, over $ 10,000 for sure, some are very specialized and cost over $ 300 Scott catalogue are good if you have a printed album, but as soon as you want specialize in something, they don't do the job. |

Just got my Chile specialized catalog in the post today. What a beautiful catalog. Hardover "coffee table" catalog with loads of specialized goodies. Definitely worth the price. |

thanks knuppster! To be honest I have been focusing a lot of my time on my library more than stamps in part because I have a ton of material I inherited from my father when he passed in 2009 that I am trying to organize first, and second because once you have a good reference catalog it will be good for decades, so investing a bit of money now while I am working and making a decent income makes sense, then when in 20-30 yrs I retire (I will be 45 this year) I have a good reference collection to help me work on my collection when I have more free time in my life. |

DJCMHOH, who are you kidding? I have been retired for over 12 years now, but I can honestly tell you that I had more time to do things when I was still working. Seems like every relative / friend / acquaintance needs your help for something!
