I've bought catalogues - quick, efficient service - but not albums, although I have some of their old ones. Which range did you have in mind? |

Sometime you can just tell from the presentation on their site that a company is a safe bet to buy from, that is the case here.
I have been looking for a better home for a collection of France I have that is getting to be worthwhile. I am considering the 'Supra' line, hingeless. I have my British in a Gibbons album, Germany in Schubek. Sort of fun to go with the natives.
I may be interested in older pages for colonies, etc. |

I have France in various albums - an old Yvert, some Schaubeks. The Colonies are surprisingly difficult to find preprinted albums for. I'm amazed that Yvert doesn't do them any longer. The only ones I've been able to find are Palo and MOC (now made by Lighthouse), and I've bought some MOC leaves, which are designed for ring binders. I used this company - ordering was a bit clunky, but the leaves arrived safe and sound. http://www.thematimbres.com/PBCPPla...p?ID=1471743 |

Thanks for the link- just sent them a query. Not clear if they ship to the US, shipping info says France.Belgium only but if you've bought from them they may well do so. Yvert charges a flat 25 euros for shipping to USA so if this outlet charges at actual cost I may be better off ordering from the publisher. Great site. How many online dealers have an interactive Google map to show you their store? |

Some of the French territories (Guadeloupe, Martinique, Indochina, etc.) are offered by Yvert in their ProAm range (no illustrations of the stamps, though). They're described in Yvert's current brochure (available for download on their website).

I actually went through the process of putting a large number of leaves into a basket, then clicked on the postage calculator for the UK to find that delivery wasn't available. I then e-mailed Alain at Thema Timbres and we took it from there. Of course, sending leaves to London is a little different to shipping albums to the US, but, if the order's worth the effort, I suspect that delivery may well be available.

Thank you - hadn't spotted those. Doesn't look comprehensive enough for me, unfortunately. The MOC pages don't have pictures either, although they do have Yvert numbers - I'll post a couple of photos.

I also sent the firm a message last night and got the exact same reply this morning. They must wonder what's up! Will get off something to them later today.
I hope the shipping is not prohibitive, as mentioned Yvert charges 25 Euros flat rate- offsets some of the extra cost of buying at retail.
How in heck is that name- Yvert- pronounced? I assume a silent 'Y'? |

GeoffHa, your dealer is invoicing me for my order tomorrow. I saved over 100 Euros over what I would have paid direct from Yvert. Many thanks for the tip! |

Dekka, thanks. I was aware of the Ceres albums but thought they only came with spring back or post binders, I need the pages to lie flat. Those look very nice, are they in color?
I may eventually be looking for pages/binders for some French Colonies, Yvert used to have a good run of those but apparently not any more. May have to settle for Scott on those. |

If anyone is interested, my album pages/binder arrived today, less than a week after ordering from France.
I am so far very favorably impressed with them. Good quality paper, mounts seem a bit unlike Hawid although open top, a bit thicker which is nice as the stamps seem to lie flat more easily. No wrinkles from the mounts. The page size is a bit large, one advantage of this is that I held onto a stack of page protectors for Palo pages and those are a good fit for these pages, just need a trim. I opted for the 'Supramax' size binder, their catalog of products says this will hold up to 120 pages, that is optimistic. I'd say it's more like 80-90 with mounts. I also will need to order a pair of page lifters for each volume, the binders do not include them. Write ups tastefully done, the Yvert # and color under each space, all individual spaces, no joined boxes as Scott does.
I am still in disbelief at the buy I got here, thanks again to GeoffHa for putting me onto Alain. I recommend him highly. |
