Hello All,

In the last few months I have received several sets of approvals from one of the 'big' stamp houses. No idea why they started sending them other than perhaps I had ordered something from them and did not specifically tell them not to send any approvals.

The first set was absolute garbage, at least to me, with a pile of cancelled stamps from around the world - I collect only US and primarily mint. I returned them immediately with a note to not send any more approvals.

Yesterday I received another small set of approvals, at least this time they were all US MNH, but the pricing was unbelievable, with an average of 200% maximum CV in 2015 Scott catalog. Again I wrote on the invoice do not send any further approvals and put them in the mail today. javascript:insertsmilie('')

In the event they continue to send approvals - what do I have to do to stop them and not be liable?

All the best,
Mike

Cross out the address and also the bar code at the bottom of the envelope and mark 'Refused, return to sender' on the envelope and drop it in the mailbox. Without opening the envelope first that is.

Here is a prior discussion on this subject that may help.... https://goscf.com/t/21398&SearchTerms=approval

Within this prior blog, wt1 provided an excellent recommendation..."I agree with the majority of responses, but I'd approach it a bit differently. If I received unsolicited stamps "on approval" ... and there may be an occasion when I would miss that text written into some agreement, I would kindly send the FIRST batch back along with a letter canceling the service and reminding the company that any approvals received after the date of this letter will be regarded as a gift and therefore no payment will be made and no demand can be made by your company under law.

That usually takes care of the problem."

Thanks for that link and guess I am not surprised this approval dilemma has been discussed previously.
