I have a whole pile of South African Republic (ZAR) stamps (what the catalogues call Transvaal) from the first republic. I am going to give these to one of our local charities so that they can sell them and raise some money, so I double-checked and triple-checked before putting them all in an envelope.
I also collect ZAR stamps used in Swaziland between 1889 and 1913, in particular those used between 1880 and 1897, when the territory's postal services were under the mandate of ZAR. There is a gap in the SG catalogue numbering between Z6 (4d "Vurtheim" issue) and Z9 (2/6d "Vurtheim" issue).
This little fellow nearly escaped my notice. It's a 1 shilling "Vurtheim" issue, used in Darkton, Swaziland, on 19 December 1894 and is the missing Z8. I'm now on the lookout for the 6d issue now, Z7! Hopefully SG will update the catalogue next year.
