Hey everyone, I need some help identifying a stamp. I have three stamps together in a row. On top it reads Correo Aereo-Chile The image is a plane. The value on the stamp is $100 and it is green, and the bottom reads Casa De Moneda De Chile. I've searched High an low online and I cant find any info on it. I will post pictures a little later
Since Joey indicates the colour to be green, it cannot be C211, imho. Chile has issued scores of airmailstamps with planes on them. My guess would be the one from 1957 (Michel 523)
The stamp in question is Scott C178 if watermarked and C187 if unwatermarked. These stamps are engraved there is also a variation of C187 (C187a) that is lithographed. The value of the C178 is about 80 cents unused and the C187 about 40 cents
Given the fact that Chile is not a very popular country to collect (at least not over here in the Netherlands), these stamps would sell for minimumprice (5 to 10 cents). c.v. might be higher, but that is only interesting when you trade by cat.value.
