Dinosaurs? Sure, but don't go crazy. Here, I am stretching the rules a bit myself. Pluto is NO LONGER a planet. It is now a Dwarf Planet. Technically, still there but defined differently. Scott 2577 from 1991. |

Originally Fort Vincennes (1731), it was built-up and renamed Fort Sackville in 1766. It is no longer there (it is now a downtown intersection). US Scott 651 from 1929. It was later renamed Fort Patrick Henry, then moved and called Fort Knox, then later Fort Knox II. Right now there are just markers of Fort Knox II, but nothing remains of Fort Vincennes / Sackville. |

I call this my saddest stamp. It's a local post from the village of Luiboml on the far western edge of Ukraine. In the 1930s it had a population of more than 3,300 and nearly 95% of the townspeople were Jewish. In 1942, during a three-year Nazi occupation, the entire Jewish population was exterminated. The buildings still stand and the town was repopulated after the war, but the original community is no longer there. |

Quote: American Baseball has begun a new season! Ebbets Field, from 1913 to 1960. (US Scott 3510) My Dad never forgave the Dodgers for leaving Brooklyn and never fully got over it. He morphed into a Met fan when Gil Hodges became the manager in 1968, but he said many times over the years that it just wasn't the same. He passed away many years before the US issued the pictured stamp. It would have broken his heart if ever saw it. |

rimstamps - Lots of the images, including the second one in your post, are of Tower Bridge! The rhyme is about an earlier bridge, not the one now resident in Arizona. |

GeoffHa, Thanks for verification, my second image was for comic relief. The first image was early. That illustrated bridge shows commerce and more existed on it. I am sure, if it did "come falling down" it would have been a sad day for all. shermae, Seeing you are from the east, you can imagine the folks that have similar stories regarding the Boston Garden. Home of "The Boston Bruins". "Boston Garden was an arena in Boston, United States. Designed by boxing promoter Tex Rickard, who also built the third iteration of New York's Madison Square Garden, it opened on November 17, 1928 as "Boston Madison Square Garden" (later shortened to just "Boston Garden") and outlived its original namesake by 30 years. It was above North Station, a train station which was originally a hub for the Boston and Maine Railroad and is now a hub for MBTA Commuter Rail and Amtrak trains". From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boston_Gardenedit; I did try to find a stamp?? |

Back to baseball, Jarry ParK Stadium, home of the Montreal Expos, 1969 to 1976. There is a tennis stadium in its place. |
