Found this forgery browsing ebay..
It is not even a good try.
First of all, the 1859 was imperf.
Just comparing the design to another makes it obvious.

Have you mentioned this problem to the seller? There many, many forgeries and not all sellers are careful in their identification. Very typical for a seller to see a similar picture in a stamp catalog and then pick the highest value for identification (not a smart choice but a common one).

You can build a nice forgery reference collection by buying on ebay and at stamp shows, if the prices are reasonable.

I dont think it is a forgery, but for sure is the wrong description.
It's not SC8, it is more SC35 which was a defective local impression with narrow perf margins, cat value 25$

I think it is forgery of SC35. Look at the "2" in the "12", they should be different in the bottom wave line. The center lion should be distinguishable from the background. The fraction hash marks are not even straight. I used to have some detailed notes on other things to look for. I will have to dig that up. I would not buy it except as a forgery.
