Canada #1546 Denomination

I may be missing something; (words I use a lot in the past few years) but, where is the denomination on Canada #1546, the 1995 30th anniversary of the flag stamp?

If its a (P) permanent stamp, its not marked as such.

Unitrade says its 43 cents.

What happens if an uninformed Canada Post clerk questions if its the correct postage for a letter with a #1546 stamp?

Does anybody recall other Canadian issues (except the "A" stamps) that didn't have some indication of value?

With both the stamps you mention I have been known to photocopy that section of Unitrade and take it to the post office to verify correct postage has been applied. The 1546 thing is actually quite bizarre.

The set of 5 stamps issued immediately after the flag stamp also lacked any value indication: the 275th anniversary of the Fortress of Louisbourg.

I also came across the Fortress Louisburg oddity; but was reluctant to ask for fear I(and others) would think I was bonkers.
There's no explaining the brain-trust at Canada Post; but sometimes "bonkers" comes to mind.

Personally I would love to see the un-santitized minutes of the CPC Stamp Advisory Committee. Now that would be fascinating - in a macabre sort of way.

Getting back to topic, (not that I object to other viewpoints) issuing stamps like 1546, BK175 and the "A" stamps certainly shows the stupidity of the CP stamp selection committee and the members arrogance in coming up with ridiculous explanations for their inept actions.

I can answer this one. These stamps have no explicit value because there was an anticipated rate change that would take effect prior to these stamps being released. Because changes in postal rates have to go through Parliament, the folks at Canada Post could not anticipate if legislators would approve the new rate they wanted. In order to avoid printing stamps with a postal rate that might not exist, they chose to leave those two issues undenominated and valid only for domestic postage. In the end, I believe the rate changed to 45 cents & Canada Post was looking for more (like 47 or thereabouts).
This happened previously in 1980 or 1981 & resulted in the release of the 'A' stamp. The rate for a domestic letter went from 17 cents to 30 cents. There was no predicting what the rate would be after Parliament finished hashing it out.

I do not collect from this period but I think I will make an exception for this stamp. As you say fascinating. A commercially used example on cover from say 2015 (20 years) old without any postage due would also be worth having.
