The key here is the
older gentlemen bit. In the UK it seems to be that the people with disposable income are pensioners on final salary schemes. The younger and future collectors ? do not usually have that much spare cash to spend and will not have the pensions we have. How many young people do you see at fairs. It is probably this that people mean when they talk about the hobby dying.
