Not sure what info you are looking for. Type 1902, Perf 15x14.5; Watermark 125, Offset Press. My 2004 Scotts says they are worth about $1.25 each. |

One point of interest is how the 1, 1.25, and 1.5m differ in very small ways from the 1902 issues.
What attracted you to these stamps? Are you collecting postmarks? |

Hello,
I am from the Netherlands and collect old German States etc. These are the 1920, the inscription is different (Deutsches Reich) from the 1902 which has Reichspost. The ebayprice is quit high, you can buy the lot over here for us$ 2

Kevin, my Scott catalogue shows the 1902 A17 design as being marked Deutsches Reich. |

Bvanasse, the 2.50M purple is an interesting stamp. It is Michel #115, and there are 6 different listings (color varieties) which vary widely in value. If you get involved in Germany area stamps, you will need a Michel Deutschland-Spezial catalog, because the Scott catalog is only useful as a basic checklist.
Germany cancellations are another nice specialty. You can develop a fair knowledge in short amount of time, but you can learn much more over the span of a few years. |

The Reichpost stamps are from 1899-1900. The inscription was changed in 1902, and the stamps issued without watermark. They appeared with watermark in 1906 and later. The design was then redrawn in 1920, and printed in offset litho. |

KGB, I would advise buying a used volume 1 (the pre1945 material) over a 2015 or 2016 edition. The changes from year to year are very subtle. I would say that if you could get one from around 2005 or newer that would be great. The English language version (2007, I think) is excellent but it doesn't have the States, colonies, and occupation issues. If you could get one for $20-$50 that would be reasonable. I would go for newer over condition of cover, if that is an issue. The binding tends to be really good. I've never had one break, or fall apart. My strategy would be to watch, and get a feel for what they are going for, before plunking down your money. Sometimes you get lucky, though. There might be places beyond ebay and Amazon where you can hunt. Maybe some SCF participant has an old Michel Spezial they'd be willing to sell you. |

Michel has actually released a 2015/2016 English Version, both vol 1 and 2, but still no States. Here are the areas covered by Vol. 1: North German Confederation, German Reich, German Post Offices Abroad, German Colonies, Free City of Danzig, Memel Territory. Price direct from Michel is 84 Euros. |
