A4 Size Blank Lighthouse Pages

Since I have decided to start printing some Steiner pages, I started looking for acid free paper here in Cyprus. Nothing! The only thing that I did find was a stockist of lighthouse products.He had a few packs of lighthouse blank A4 size pages with a black border, but couldn't tell me if they were acid free. Has anybody used these pages before, or does anybody perhaps know if they are acid free.
And at the risk of being blasphemous, how much of a problem can normal paper/card be?

In the long run normal paper is a problem. Go to any museum in the world and look at older books.
As far as Lighthouse paper is concerned, I am sure it is acid free, but you can always send them an E-mail.

The most difficult problem is to find the proper printer that is compatible with those pages...I have yet to find one....

Gilles, the OP is from Cyprus. A4 is the norm there!

Most of the papers and card stock available from commercial stationers (e.g. Staples) are now acid free.

Yes Lighthouse is acid free. When I do my own pages I use a kind of linen paper from Staples. It is tough and acid free.

I have 4 printers by my side, they all print A4, I don't remember have seen a printer sold in Canada since at least 10 years not doing it

Now, the question is Lighthouse do A4 ? all the Lighthouse pages I have here demand a large format printer. Stamples sold a nice one around Xmass at $ 125 Canadian $ I can do up to 12x19 with it.

The vast majority of paper produced today and intended for office or home printing is acid-free. It was introduced in the 1950s, production ramped up in the 1970s and by the 1980s that's all anyone wanted. It's become so ubiquitous that many paper manufacturers no longer feel the need to label it "acid free", which is probably why you are not finding paper labeled "acid free" in Cyprus - all of it is. A possible exception is children's coloring books and newspapers, that is, the cheapest available papers that aren't intended for any kind of long-term use.

actually it's a 13x19 printer , it was in special at half price a little bit after X-Mas. It's my 10 years old daughter that use it most. me I puse a 11x17 laser printer at work, cost less.

The black border on the Lighthouse pages referenced by the OP is going to be an issue if you want to download Steiner pages.

If they are blank on the back perhaps you could print on that side.

Depends on whether you need the heavier pages, or whether you're OK with the standard 100 gsm paper availabke in Amazon etc.

Thanks for the response guys, will ponder on the issue some more and perhaps check out some of the paper available at stationers, if they are acid free it'll be great as the lighthouse pages are quite expensive.

I know that it says "cardboard" but at 160gsm it sounds more like paper. Have you asked them about it !

Also this web page may answer some questions particularly how long do you want the paper to last. I have used 180gsm card for at least 15 years with no problems. What I use is not specified as acid free but it may well be due to modern production methods.

Anthraquinone, thanks for the info, although I am aware of the outfit in Cyprus whose link you posted, I didn't get in touch with them since the didn't list acid free paper, but having a read through the other web link you supplied, I think I can wrap this matter up and get on with things. Much appreciated.
