Canadian Stamp Auctions Website

Whenever I go on the Canadian Stamp Auctions website, I get an exploit html warning on my computer. Has anyone experienced the same?

No problem when I went there just now. Bigger problem is that there has been no new content in about a year.

Or (without the operating system bias) because he may be running one of many firewalls or other security apps that watches for websites with suspect coding (for example, it may be the older javscript on the Canadian Stamp Auctions page).

IMHO - I suggest that no one should enter this site.

My computer identified that there is a virus in the "Varieties" section that my computer, thankfully, prevents access to. I identified this virus situation to the site manager at least a year ago and it is still there. He did not respond.

Perhaps that is why the site has not been updated for so long.

Excuse me Don, blackjag..what's a virus....haha

BTW guys..I got to the varieties and was no problem.

I checked the site before adding my previous comment.

Today, I do not get the "virus" message and was able to access the 2013 scren.

Perhaps the site manager reads this forum.

FYI, and not to start a debate over the merits of OSes... but Linux and Apple OS surpassed Windows in number of vulnerabilities in 2014.

Don your post is a little..just a little misleading...Below is a know virus count up to 2003..




Don..Your right..Each operating system has good and bad points about it...

BTW..I was going to post a big post about FREE software for Windows, Mac and Linux users here soon to adapt to stamp collecting.

I will include pictures text and links to where people with different operating system can download and use.
Sound like a good idea my friend..??

I disagree, my post is not misleading at all. The 2003 numbers reflect old operating systems like XP, looking at current number the trend is no longer the same. Old perspectives die hard I suppose. Frankly, in the next year neither Windows, Apple or Linux will rank highest in the largest number vulnerabilities; they will be surpassed by mobile device operating systems.
But note, having the largest number of vulnerabilities is not sign of a secure operating system; it is more am indication of popularity. The more an operating system is used, the more motivation hackers have to find vulnerabilities. If it takes you 200 hours to hack something, why spend it on a little used operating system?

Post away, but please consider downloading and testing before you post. It does no one any good if links are posted to stuff that has issues, special requirements, or adware. (Even worse, links to software that might contain malware, spyware or computer breaking stuff.) It would also be a good idea to describe if the software is truly 'free'. Many developers will allow you to download software for free but they rightly expect donations if folks end up finding the app useful. It's only fair to pay people for the work they do if you end up using it.
