Stamp Insider for May-June 2016

The May-June2016 issue of the Stamp Insider, journal of the Federation of New York Philatelic Societies, is online and available for free download in PDF format or viewing online with page turning. It is available in both PDF and HTML5-friendly format at:

http://www.stampinsider.org

The cover story is a preview of World Stamp Show-NY 2106.

The issue features three articles exploring postal history — "Advertised Letters in a Small Town" by Bob Bramwell, "What Are Auxiliary Markings?" by Ralph H. Nafziger, and "An 1881 Contract Tycoon" by Diane DeBlois in her Ephemera column.

Alan Warren reviews Volume 1 of the new Overrun and Occupied Countries Series — the Poland Stamp and Its Varieties by Keith Lichtman.

The featured video is a 1935 Fox Movietone News film of Postmaster General James A. Farley narrating the journal of a stamp from its creation to its delivery on a piece of mail.
