Geoff:
I think you misread part of this:
onward including watermark and proper colour changes but not shades, postage dues(should be a comma here) and officials.
Put the break after the shades..It includes (watermark and proper color but not shades), and postage dues, and officials (are both included) |

I had to reread a few times. With the problems at SG,why be surprised. Most of their descriptions leave much to be desired. |

GeoffHa:
Here is what the 6 volumes contain.
I have the King George VI album open now - there are 333 pages in 6 volumes. Here's is a listing I made of what each volume contains.
George VI Album – 6 volumes – 333 pages 1 – Aden-Burma (pages 1-59) 2 – Canada – Gilbert and Ellice Islands (pages 60-114) 3 – Gold Coast – Malacca (pages 115-170) 4 – Malayan Postal Union – New Zealand (pages 116-214) 5 – Nigeria – Soruth (pages 215-283) 6 – South Africa – Zanzibar (pages 284 – 333)
As for India, the headings of the India pages (132-138): 1937. King George VI. Various designs 1940-43. King George VI on white background 1946. Victory 1947. Independence 1948. Air Stamp 1948. First Anniversary of Independence 1949-51. Various designs 1949. Universal Postal Union 1951. First Asian Games 1950. Inauguration of republic. symbolical designs 1951. Geological Survey OFFICIAL 1939. Provisional 1937-39. King George VI stamps overprinted "SERVICE" 1939-43 1950-51
No Indian Feudatory at all by the looks of it.
How does this compare to your 4 volume set?
Any help is appreciated.

Apologies - I'm now in Paris, and about to go and eat escargits and boudin noir. I'll give you a reply next week.

Hi Geoff
Absolutely no problem.
Enjoy the holiday if it is and if it is work, don't work too hard.
Either way, enjoy.

Geoff, boudin noir sounds so much more exotic than black pudding! Enjoy... |

In my old single-volume SG, the Feudatory States are listed individually, not as a group - Hyderabad is under "H", Travancore under "T" etc. |

Plot thickens: Stanley Gibbons just issued volume 7 and 8 but very little information on the site. See link below. https://www.stanleygibbons.com/prd/...se/128592013Not sure if it is only for 2 binders and slip case or if has any pages as page image is same as for the 6 volume set. Getting real tired of SG very quickly on lack of information in their listings. |
