Hi everyone,

I have to write a little article for the British publication Stamp Magazine on Boyaca, the Colombian state that issued stamps from 1899 to 1904. Problem is I have no Boyaca stamps and can't seem to find anything suitable on line either. I need to illustrate my article with two images of mint stamps, and I would very much like to have scans of Boyaca's first stamp from 1899 and one of the 5 pesos value from the 1903 set, depicting the battle monument.

Is there anyone out there who collects Boyaca and could help me with scans of those two? You would of course be credited in the magazine!

I have a handful of these, but only a used example of the first issue. I don't have the 5 peso.

Hi AKPhilately

I have the issues you want but, alas, I do not have a scanner. However, StampWorld does have images of the stamps you want:

http://www.stampworld.com/en_US/stamps/Boyaca/

I needed some images for a document and I e-mailed StampWorld and got permission to use their images. Therefore, send an e-mail to them requesting permission. Explain what you are doing and why you want to use their images. They are pretty nice people and very accommodating. In my document I gave credit for each image I used and I also added a link to their website.

AKphilately- I don't have the ones you specifically requested, but I do have (all unused unless indicated otherwise)...

1903
Imperforate
Scott 4 10c dark gray
Scott 5 20c red brown
Scott 6 1p red

Perf 12
Scott 10 10c dark gray
Scott 11 20c red brown (cancelled)
Scott 12 50c green

If you could use the scan images of any of these, I can scan them, and upload them here, and you could use them for your article.

Do these images have some kind of copyright protection?

Here are some scans from my collection...

Boyaca Scott 4

Boyaca Scott 6

Boyaca Scott 12

Boyaca 17

Some of them are not perfect.

If nothing else, they will give you something you could use.

Thanks for all your replies so far, much appreciated. I quite like the idea of asking Stampworld, as they have the two stamps I am particularly looking for on their site. If unsuccessful I'd gladly follow up some of your leads.

Stampworld isn't coming through at all, so Jim, I'm gonna use two of the images you put up here, the 50c and the 10p, and will credit them to you. I've rewritten the piece so that these two guys feature a bit more, to make it logical for these pics to have been included.
Thanks very much for your help!
