Hello all,
I found this New South Wales Aussie stamp tonight (Scott 89), perf. 11x12, looks like wmk.55 inverted.
Can't find anything on the web as yet so thought I'd ask here for any input anyone may have.
Thanks for looking.
ATB.....Jad

See the note in Gibbons about inverted watermarks of Australian States.

There is no premium for them as many were printed about 50-50 upright and inverted,

Pagoda

Many thanks Pagoda, only have an early Scott set so far, it's probably in there somewhere too but I didn't spot it ;)
I hope to get a more detailed cat.for my Aust. stamps soon.
It was interesting checking though them for the first time last night, & found some nice barred numeral cancels like this one.
I think if I have this right, it's a Vic. Cheltenham type 1B. But have a lot of learning with these ahead too.
Cheers......Jad

Hi Jad

But some early Australians states without watermarks are a little more collectable, but do not bring high prices like Australian Commonwealth.

Curious.
The Cheltenham 128, did it also come with thin sidebars, if so, which is the scarcer of the 2?
Thanks.

Rod222....It seemed to be a 1B type & was rated RRRR, & yes there was a listing in the info from another board I don't play in, many of the poeple are different there ;(
The list had....Quote....
128 Cheltenham...RRRR type 1B...R two thin side bars...Rated S Duplex.

I can send you the link to the huge list if you like mate, but I'm not sure it's the right thing to add the boards link here.
