Unknown Stamp Please Help

Not a postage stamp nor a revenue one (it is not in the Shinomura catalogue):likely to be a label for silk packages (but don't take it for granted)

Is that not Chinese and looking at the edges I would agree that this has been taken from something but I thought that China
made books like this, the same as we have postage year packs but then it would not have a cancel. I would say its definitely not a silk the material is wrong, around the edges you would see fine strands rather that what you see on this but I am no expert either. I wish I could remember what they call these books and the only other thing that puts me off is this looks old.

Chinese crane material/cloth. No idea from what.
