Hi guys..Take a look at this Scott # 197 stamp...Looks like vertical wove paper...Held stamp at an angle to get a good look at it...What do you think..?
Yes, it is vertical wove paper for this stamp but the other lines have to do with the horizontal gum breaker lines that were applied to the gum of these Stickney rotary press printed sheet stamps which could make it look like horizontal laid paper which it is not.
