ebay apparently has an updated checkout 'fast checkout' screen. I ran into an issue others may need to be warned about.

I used this checkout to buy a higher priced lot a few weeks back.I elected to use the credit card I have on file for my Paypal account, no problems. What then happened is that all subsequent purchases using that screen got charged to my card. The default did not revert to my bank account. I caught it when noting my card balance had shot up.

The next time I used it I noted the default to the card. I was able to change it by clicking that I wanted to use my bank account. Then the next time I had to do it again. I cannot get the default to change. It is now treating the card as my preferred payment method.

I emailed and called PP, worse than useless. They couldn't seem to follow what I was talking about. They thought I was trying to change an email address!I am alert for this now but just wonder if anon else got dinged on this?

This is exactly why I keep money in the paypal balance. If you use a card you are charged a fee for every transaction. When I buy several lots it wants to pay them all at once. I remove the ones that have not been combined yet. The other thing you have to consider is if you bought them from a foreign ebay site they also do a currency conversion automatically. So my advice would be transfer money from your bank card to paypal, and what will happen then is your purchases will come out of that paypal balance first. Just make sure you always have enough $$ in the paypal balance each week. Try to reduce the number of times you use the bankcard, have you checked the fees on your bankcard with each purchase through paypal? These days your better off phoning paypal for such issues like you had.
